Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and img2img Browser Extension (“img2img”, “we”, “us”). They cover the img2img website, the img2img Chrome extension and the hosted processing service (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

1. The service

img2img applies image-editing operations to images you choose: background removal and replacement, upscaling, photo restoration and reference maps. The extension sends the image you select to our servers, which process it and return the result. You can also connect the extension to your own image-processing server, in which case your images don’t pass through ours and these terms cover only the extension.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
• Give accurate details and keep your password and API keys secret. You’re responsible for what is done with your account and keys. If a key may have been exposed, revoke it on the API keys page.
• One person or organisation per account. Don’t share, sell or transfer accounts.

3. Credits and payment

• The service is paid for with prepaid credits, bought in packs at the prices shown on the pricing page. Each processed image uses the number of credits listed there.
• There is no subscription: nothing renews or is charged automatically.
• Payments are handled by our payment provider, which may act as the merchant of record for your purchase and collect any sales tax or VAT that applies. We never see or store your card details.
• Credits don’t expire while your account is open. They have no cash value, can’t be transferred, and are only refundable as described in our refund and cancellation policy.
• If processing fails, the credits for that image are returned to your balance automatically.
• We may change prices for future purchases. Credits you’ve already bought keep the value they had.

4. Acceptable use

You must follow our acceptable use policy. In short: only safe-for-work images, only images you have the right to edit, no impersonation, no deepfakes, and nothing illegal. Images are checked automatically and flagged images are refused.

5. Your images

• You keep all rights to the images you submit and to the results. You give us only the permission we need to process them and return the results to you.
• You confirm that you have the right to edit each image you submit, and that doing so doesn’t infringe anyone’s copyright, privacy or other rights.
• We handle images as our privacy policy describes: in memory, for a few minutes, never used to train AI models.

6. Suspension and closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time in its settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, puts the service or other people at risk, or is used for fraud. If we close an account without a breach on your part, we’ll refund its unused credits. Unused credits on an account closed for a breach aren’t refunded.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running but don’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering the service altogether, we’ll refund unused credits.

8. Disclaimer

The service uses AI models, and results can be imperfect or unexpected. It is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in these terms, including fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, tell you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where img2img Browser Extension is registered, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
